ABOUT THE ARTIST
From flat felted paintings to 3D sculptures, Christine uses a barbed needle and color wool fiber to bring her creations to life. Pet portraits are a favorite and include her hand painted kiln formed glass eyes for an extra detailed touch for custom orders.
Christine's background in Illustration (BFA, Rhode Island School of Design) lends itself well in terms to her approach to color and form, not only when applied to her fiber pieces but also to her work in fused glass, polymer clay, and painting (Merrikin Designs).
"I've always been drawn to animals and enjoy capturing their physical likeness as well as essence and personality through the textural possibilities of wool fiber.  There is something about the carefully layered wool fibers, the gradual building up of form and seeing the subject gradually come to life that is very satisfying to me." - Christine Musser
