About the Artist Christine Musser

Nimbus II (Ermine English Angora) at 2 months.

Meet two of my "assistants": Nimbus and Thunderfoot.  In some of my creations, I add a little bit of rabbit angora fiber to the merino wool for texture.  The angora wool is gently removed via daily brushing. Often added for accents (white) and subtle signs of aging (black/gray).

I also frequently dye wool to achieve the exact color desired.  If interested in learning about this process, I write about dyeing small batches of fiber on my blog,  www.artejournal.com. Tutorial for dyeing wool: click here.

Thunderfoot (Black English Angora) at 4 months.

About the Artist:

Christine has always had a fascination with animals as a child, she could often be found trying to sneak toads and other animals found outside into the house to keep as pets. She has a B.F.A. in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and currently resides in Redmond with her husband, two sons, two angora rabbits, bearded dragon, tortoise and fish. When not felting, she works in fused glass, papier mache, silk and more. Her fused glass and silk work can be seen on HGTV's That's Clever!.

Visit her other store to see creations in fused glass and polymer clay: ETSY: merrikindesigns and website, www.merrikindesigns.com.

She also publishes a blog, www.artejournal.com which features sketches of works in progress, artists of interest, tutorials, and more.
